Connect 316 is a theologically driven ministry fellowship serving Southern Baptists and the Kingdom of God by: (a) sharing the gospel within the understanding of our unique doctrinal framework, (b) inviting Christians to register their convictions and sign the Traditional Statement, (c) offering an organization for the fellowship and support of like-minded Southern Baptists, (d) publishing the news blog SBC Today and sponsoring the annual Connect 316 Banquet at the SBC, and (e) promoting various doctrinal views and ministry practices consistent with our theological perspective.
Christ’s people should, as occasion requires, organize such associations…as may best secure cooperation for the great objects of the Kingdom of God. (Baptist Faith and Message 2000)
We affirm that Southern Baptists stand together in a commitment to cooperate in Great Commission ministries… We must clarify the parameters of our cooperation where necessary but stand together without dispute… We must not only acknowledge but celebrate the distinctive contributions made by the multiple streams of our Southern Baptist heritage. (Truth, Trust and Testimony in a Time of Tension Report 2013)
